KenTrade now supports Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring two forms of verification—your password and a one-time code. This helps prevent unauthorised access.

Bind your KenTrade account to the new Kenanga MFA app by scanning the QR code and enter the 6-digit code sent via SMS to your registered mobile number.

How to setup your MFA

Here's how to setup your MFA

From your browser (laptop or tablet):

1. Visit the KenTrade login page.
2. Enter your User ID and Password.
3. Open the MFA app and allow camera access.
4. Scan the QR code displayed on the KenTrade website using the MFA app on your mobile device.
5. Enter the 6-digit code sent via SMS to your registered mobile number with Kenanga in the Kenanga MFA app.
6. A confirmation screen will appear once the OTP is accepted.
7. You will then see your KenTrade ID listed on the account page.
8. After successful binding, the next time you log in to KenTrade, simply tap the Approve button in your MFA app.

MFA - From your KenTrade 2.0 mobile app

From your KenTrade 2.0 mobile app:

1. Login to the KenTrade 2.0 App.
2. A QR code will appear. Tap the MFA App button.
3. A notification will appear. "Open this page in 'Kenanga MFA'". Tap Open.
4. An OTP verification screen will be displayed.
5. Proceed with MFA binding by entering the 6-digit code sent via SMS to your registered mobile number with Kenanga.
6. A confirmation screen will appear once the OTP is accepted.
7. You will then see your KenTrade ID listed on the account page.
8. The next time you log in to KenTrade, simply tap the Approve button in your MFA app.

What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and why is it being introduced for KenTrade by Kenanga application?

Is MFA required for all KenTrade users?

Yes. In line with Bursa Malaysia's guideline, MFA is mandatory for all KenTrade users by 31 December 2025. This requirement ensures secure access and helps safeguard sensitive information.

Can I uninstall Kenanga MFA app after I complete binding?

No, you cannot uninstall the Kenanga MFA app after completing the binding process.
The app is required for approving your login every time you access the trading platform. If you uninstall it, you will not be able to log in successfully. For uninterrupted access, please keep the Kenanga MFA app installed on your device.

Do I need to always keep the MFA app on my mobile device?

Yes. Each time you log in to KenTrade, you will need to open the Kenanga MFA app on your mobile device to approve your login. Without the app, you will not be able to complete the login process.

Will I need to approve via Kenanga MFA every time I log in?

Yes. Each time you log in, you will be required to approve the login through Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for added security.
